Dr. Azizzadeh is a Harvard-trained facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon with extensive experience in facial nerve preservation and repair. Training & Accomplishments
After graduating from the UCLA School of Medicine with the highest honors, Dr. Azizzadeh completed a prestigious six-year residency program in Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic Surgery at UCLA Center for Health Sciences. He then completed a sub-specialized fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Harvard Medical School.
After serving as a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Azizzadeh returned to California and became an assistant clinical professor of surgery at UCLA and an attending facial plastic surgeon at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. From there, he founded the esteemed Facial Paralysis Institute of Los Angeles, where his expertise in the facial nerve makes him uniquely qualified to treat patients with facial paralysis and Bell's Palsy, and provides parotid tumor patients with and extra level of care. In addition, Dr. Azizzadeh is co-director of the facial plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship program at Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, as well as co-chairman of Cedars-Sinai's annual Advances in Multi-Specialty Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery.
One of the most trained specialists in his field, Dr. Azizzadeh is double board-certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, as well as the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. In addition, he has penned five textbooks, including the preeminent text "The Facial Nerve," and contributed to hundreds of medical journals and articles. The recipient of countless national and international awards, including being selected by US News & World Report as a Top Doctor, Dr. Azizzadeh has developed a reputation as the best parotid surgeon available.
Giving Back
In addition to his busy surgical practices, Dr. Azizzadeh is regularly involved in charitable causes. He is the founder and director of the Facial Paralysis and Bell's Palsy Foundation -- a non-profit committed to developing techniques to cure facial nerve disorders, as well as providing surgery to those in need.
Dr. Azizzadeh also works with the Global Smile Foundation, traveling to third world countries and donating his valuable surgical expertise to help children with cleft lip and palate disorders restore their appearance. Finally, he is also heavily involved with the ROSE Fund (Regaining One's Self-Esteem), an organization dedicated to ending violence against women. Through his work with this organization, Dr. Azizzadeh performs reconstructive surgeries to help victims of domestic and other types of abuse.
